Even goal and capped portions answer different questions

For example, a prepared workload is 7:30:00, with five available study days and a daily cap of 1:40:00. The even goal is 1:30:00. Total capacity is 8:20:00, leaving fifty minutes of margin. A feasible capped schedule can use four days of 1:40:00 and a final day of 0:50:00, while an even schedule uses five equal 1:30 blocks.

If only four days are available, the even goal becomes 1:52:30, which exceeds the cap. The minimum number of days at 1:40 is five. The tool reports the one-day shortage rather than hiding it by creating an over-cap day.

Prepare the workload consistently

A known source total at 1× is not always a study workload. If 6:00:00 of media will play at 1.5×, media time is 4:00:00. If notes add two hours, the scheduled workload is 6:00:00. Choose which number the daily cap governs. The checkbox records whether notes and breaks are already included; it does not add them.

The distinction matters. A learner may set a ninety-minute daily cap for all study, not just video playback. Feeding media-only time into that plan would overfill the day once practice is added. Document the boundary beside the copied result.

A schedule is not a learning prescription

The tool does not decide how many days a person should study, how long attention lasts, or what playback speed supports understanding. Available days and caps are user-supplied constraints. Course difficulty, accessibility, prior knowledge, assessments, and personal circumstances remain outside arithmetic.

A smaller final portion is not wasted capacity. It can remain buffer for review or a missed day. Conversely, filling every day to the cap may be fragile. The viewer can choose an even plan below the maximum instead of the front-loaded capped sequence.

No calendar dates on this page

“Five available days” is a count, not a calendar. The tool does not know which weekdays are free, observe holidays, or create events. Revise an infeasible result

An infeasible result states the minimum days at the cap, total shortage, and the daily goal required within the entered days. Those three values support different revisions. Add days when the cap is firm. Increase the cap only if it remains appropriate. Reduce workload by deferring optional material, then recalculate the known total.

Do not increase playback speed solely to make a table turn green. Speed is a separate decision with comprehension and accessibility consequences. Any revised speed must be intentionally chosen and reflected in the prepared workload.
